
Officers from the Delta State Police Command’s Special Anti-Cult Unit (SACU) have apprehended Christian Bugwa, a 28-year-old suspected cultist, in a significant operation against cult activities in the region.
The arrest took place on June 17, 2024, at approximately 9:00 PM in Nsukwa Community. During the arrest, police recovered a locally made single-barrel gun and one live cartridge from Bugwa.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest in a statement to Daily Post. "The suspect stated that he is a member of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity," Edafe disclosed, indicating the suspect's affiliation with the notorious cult group.
Efforts are currently underway to apprehend other members of Bugwa's gang, as the police intensify their crackdown on cult-related activities in the area.
