In a significant development, Lagos State Police have apprehended Toibu Hassan, a 25-year-old man, on suspicion of possessing an illicit firearm. The arrest was confirmed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, in a statement released via his social media handle on Saturday.
The incident unfolded early in the morning under the Agege Pen-Cinema Bridge, where officers from Elere Division successfully detained Hassan. Upon conducting a thorough search, law enforcement recovered a locally manufactured pistol along with one expended cartridge from the suspect.
