State Police Public Relations Officer Timfon John confirmed the arrests in a statement released on Saturday. According to the statement, the suspects—John Okon Anta, Michael Osudua, and Inyene Joseph Edet—were taken into custody after allegedly robbing a resident at gunpoint, making off with a QLINK motorcycle, phones, and a power bank charger.
"Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had earlier robbed two houses in Afaha Ikot Abasi Village, stealing cell phones and other valuable items," the statement read.
The suspects have reportedly confessed to the crimes. One locally-made pistol was recovered from the trio, and efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the gang who are still at large.
The suspects will face charges in court upon the completion of the investigation.
