The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has raised concerns over a rising trend of candidates submitting doctored age declarations on their National Identification Number (NIN) slips. The examination body expressed alarm at the growing number of underage candidates who are falsifying their ages to meet university admission requirements.
JAMB has emphasized that this practice is dangerous, unnecessary, and detrimental to the integrity of the admission process. To address this issue, JAMB has reiterated that only candidates who are at least sixteen years old at the time of admission will be deemed eligible for university admission.
The board's strict stance aims to ensure that all candidates meet the minimum age requirement, maintaining fairness and compliance within the educational system.
