The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on community engagement (Southeast) Mrs. Chioma Nweze has urged southeast universities to put every necessary machinery in place to enable them access the students’ loan.
The SSA made the call in a press release she issued on Saturday, where she noted that the failure to access the fund was due to the inability of the authorities in the southeast institutions to meet necessary requirements for the loan.
According to her, “This omission is a missed opportunity for our students to access critical funding for their education.
“NELFUND offers a lifeline for students struggling to finance their studies, and it is imperative that our universities take immediate action to unlock this funding.”
She urged the universities to step in and ensure that the students responded promptly to the NELFUND verification request by completing all necessary requirements.
“We cannot afford to let this chance slip away. We must act now to ensure that our students do not miss out on this opportunity.
“We owe it to ourselves, our students, and our region to take the lead and secure this funding,” Nweze said.
