The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 86.55% of the results from the Edo governorship election, with 3,911 out of 4,519 results already available on the INEC Results Viewing (IReV) portal. By 6:22 p.m., voters and observers across Nigeria could access the results online.
This milestone means that every party’s situation room is now informed about the candidates’ standings as the results continue to roll in.
Anugbum Onuoha, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Edo, had earlier assured the public that the results would be transmitted electronically. Speaking in an interview with Arise Television, Onuoha confirmed that while network issues could delay the process, INEC was prepared to ensure the integrity of the election.
“We have trained the operators for the BVAS. They are ready to accredit voters and upload the results once counted," Onuoha stated, reinforcing INEC's commitment to transparency in the electoral process.
