A family in Okwudor is in distress after a young woman, Ezinne, who had recently moved in with her elder sister, reportedly disappeared and allegedly stole money from her family’s business. Ezinne, who had only been living with the family for a few months, is said to have taken over her sister's shop while she recovered from a fibroid surgery.
According to the sister, who asked to remain anonymous, Ezinne had been managing the business for just two weeks when she suddenly disappeared without warning. The incident occurred early in the morning when the family’s gatekeeper reported seeing Ezinne leave the house carrying a nylon bag. Later, it was discovered that several items, including shoes from the shop, were missing along with the money from their sales.
The situation grew more troubling when it was revealed that Ezinne had blocked all communication with her family, but responded to one phone call stating that she would make her family proud despite their concerns. In her message, she claimed that her family had always believed she was "useless," and that she was determined to prove them wrong.
The family has since reported the matter to the police, but the situation remains unresolved. Despite their efforts, Ezinne's family has advised them to let her "wallow" in her actions, suggesting that she will return once she’s done. Meanwhile, the victimized family, led by Lilian Nkem Igbojekwe, who built the business from the ground up, is struggling to cope with the loss.
Lilian, a well-known hustler in her community, is now calling for assistance in locating her relative. She has warned that if Ezinne does not return what she stole, she will regret her actions for the rest of her life.
The family is appealing to anyone with information on Ezinne’s whereabouts to come forward and help resolve this troubling situation.
