The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended three individuals in Kano State, recovering a massive haul of illegal substances, including 2,000 ampoules of pentazocine injection and over 3.1 million pills of Exol-5.
The operation took place on Thursday, November 28, at Gadar Tamburawa along Zaria Road, where the suspects, identified as Jamilu Adamu, 38; Umar Musa, 32; and Bunu Ali, 27, were intercepted.
In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA's Director of Media and Advocacy, confirmed the arrests and detailed the seizure.
“This significant operation underscores our commitment to tackling the illicit drug trade in all forms,” Babafemi said, highlighting the agency's ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of harmful substances across the country.
The confiscated drugs, Exol-5 pills and pentazocine injections, are often misused as stimulants and painkillers, posing serious risks to public health and safety.
The NDLEA’s latest success follows a series of nationwide operations targeting drug syndicates. Investigations into the case are ongoing, and the suspects will face prosecution under Nigeria’s drug enforcement laws.
This development underscores the NDLEA’s resolve to combat drug trafficking and protect communities from the adverse effects of drug abuse.
