Nigerian filmmaker and comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, recently stirred conversation with his remarks about gender dynamics in Nollywood.
AY took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to express his views, stating that men in the industry often prefer to support women over their male counterparts.
According to him, despite his hard work, fellow men find it difficult to support him.
On his X handle, the comedian wrote, “One Day men go tell man ‘wetin man do man.’ We work so hard to stay relevant and take care of our responsibilities. Must we gave Bosom s and yansh to have the support of our fellow men?
“I am still the only man left in the business of filmmaking who is yet to give it all up.”
AY's comments have sparked debates among fans and industry insiders, with some agreeing and sharing similar experiences, while others challenge his perspective.
