Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Very Dark Man (VDM), recently shared a disturbing claim about a breach in his NGO's website. In a video posted on his Instagram this morning, VDM revealed that hackers had accessed his NGO's account and transferred N180 million.
He further disclosed that the police are involved in the investigation, and one of the hackers has already been apprehended in Jos, Plateau state. VDM mentioned that he and a police officer were en route to Jos to follow up on the case. He also noted that his NGO's account now holds only N20 million following the breach.
“I would be honest with you guys. For the past few days, I have not been myself. Somebody hacked into the NGO website and I don't know how they did it. N180 million is missing.
Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and we are on our way to Jos. They have arrested one. The account has been put on PND (Post No Debit). The account now has N20 million.'' he said
Otse further explained that he had to shut down the NGO’s app for maintenance to prevent further breaches and promised to provide updates on the situation.
Recall that on October 14, 2024, he launched the Martins Vincent Otse Initiative and in 24 hours, he received a donation of N33 million from well-meaning Nigerians. Music executive, Don Jazzy also donated a whooping N100 million to VDM's NGO.
