Nigerian musician Blackface has reiterated his stance on accusations of intellectual property theft against several colleagues, insisting that his claims are rooted in truth and not a ploy for attention. The artist emphasized that none of the accused have ever denied his allegations.
Speaking during an interview with TVC, Blackface disclosed that his unique style and musical creativity have made him a target for other artists who, according to him, “jack” his songs without proper credit.
The former Plantashun Boiz member explained that all his works are officially registered and published, making the unauthorized use of his creations a clear violation. "When you release a song, it becomes a published work. These songs are registered, and it’s evident when they are used without authorization. Was the song published before their work?" he questioned.
Blackface stressed that his accusations are not about seeking proof but addressing the unethical practice in the music industry. He noted, "The action is wrong. So many Nigerian artists have taken my songs, and not a single one of them has denied my claims. That should make people see there’s an iota of truth in what I’m saying."
The singer, known for his outspoken nature, has long been vocal about protecting intellectual property rights in the Nigerian music industry. His latest statements are likely to reignite discussions about originality and respect for creative ownership among artists.
