Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted a massive consignment of 2,000 kilograms of Ghanaian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis smuggled from Ghana, at Lekki Beach, Lagos.
The seizure, which took place on Wednesday, January 29, led to the arrest of two suspects, Sunday Awoyede and Christopher Cletus, who were caught attempting to load the illicit drugs onto a truck.
According to NDLEA officials, the suspects, the skunk shipment, and the vehicle used for transportation were immediately taken into custody. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and warned that smugglers would face the full weight of the law.
Investigations into the syndicate behind the illegal operation are ongoing.
