Forty five houses were on Tuesday razed by fire in Dugare village, Giade Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Tuesday night fire followed a heavy windstorm.
The Acting Chairman of the council, Alhaji Musa Mainari, who visited affected victims on Wednesday, sympathised with them over the incident.
Mainari cautioned the victims and all the people within the area to be extra-careful while handling fire to avoid a recurrence.
