All our elders went to school through scholarship. They never had to bother about how and when their tuition fees would be paid.Today and even in the last three decades, the story is entirely different.Young Nigerians struggle to go through school all alone with nobody caring ahoot how he does it.So can we be possibly happier than they. These elders who were beneficiaries of various scholarship schemes are leaders now and never thought it necssary to put in place similar schemes for the generations after them.Tell me,what other character trait can be described as wickedness if not this.
Is this all may be the question in your mind.Tell me what is more painful and demoralizing as being unable to get a job after struggling through tertiary education. There is nothing more frustrating than this.It might interest you to know that our elders never suffered unemployment after graduation.Rather, they were given automatic jobs and official car and had the rare privilege of residing in high brow areas.Today's graduates roam the streets and are treated as outcasts.Shame on you ungrateful elders.
Today's graduates are tagged "unemployable","half-baked","lazy",etc. even when it is obvious that so many of the elders are no match to the present day graduates. It is a time for our elders to reflect and give back to the society and posterity.I mean now is the time as tomorrow may not come.
