The Ex-Niger Delta militants, who blocked the Lokoja-Abuja in December last year have appealed to Senate President David Mark to prevail on the Niger Delta Ministry to include them in the amnesty programme.

The leader of the militants group, Ramsey Umukoru, in a statement blamed the management of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs for their non inclusion in the amnesty program. He said they decided to appeal to the Senate president and the National Assembly because they are the representative of the people.

‘‘We are appealing to the Senate president and the National Assembly because all efforts to get the Niger Delta Ministry for dialogue with us proved abortive.  We have written several letters to them, all to no avail. The boys under us are threatening to go back to the creeks because they think we are deceiving them’’, he said.

It would be recalled that in December last year, some ex-militants blocked the Muritala Muhammed bridge in Lokoja, to protest what they described as their non inclusion in the amnesty programme.
