Well as much good news this is the question here is; how do this reflect in building our country ? to what percentage has this boost our economy, productivity or creativity. Much references is been given so far to education at the expense of encouraging along side entrepreneurship, skill acquisition to complement education for which countries like China, America etc glory today. The number of unemployment is unspeakable with majority graduate and many more to join as we go cashless society and machine takes over peoples job. Education without acquisition of skill am afraid the way this nation is going is a doom end. God help us.

what is so good about the news? if truly they are Nigerians, let them bring their skills home so multitudes will benefit. i refuse to celebrate anyone that has achieved a certain height without pulling somebody along.....

Duh!!! They came to the US with a Student Visa, what do you expect? Do you think if Nigeria was next door to the US that this stats will be the same? Look at the education rate for mexicans in the US and that'll give you an idea of what the rate would be if Nigeria was next door to the US. Likewise if Mexico was as far as Nigeria is to the US, their rate would be as high.

The only bad news for you here is that your blood sucking people aren't among of this brilliant Nigerians!

That is not the bad news at all. The real bad news is that the education back home is BAD. Everywhere you go. I am not sentimental on this.

yeah, that's good news indeed but what matters is what u have in ur brain and not the certificates u acquired. We Nigerians love acquiring certificates because back here in naija we value certificates more than anything. Most of them will still head back to naija where certs is been honoured to occupy political positions with their foreign certs. What & what have we invented as our contribution to mankind?.
'
Spot-on bro! People tend to value certificates more than knowledge.Having a Master's Degree isn't a guarantee that you are more knowledgeable than a Bachelor's Degree holder.Besides, most whites abroad start teaching at a very young age with B.Degree because they know what they studied.Others, owing to their dexterity, invent things that we Africans with M.Degree/ph.D tend to appreciate in the long run.For example,if you visit NOKIA Company(Helsinki)-Finland,you'll find very young, astute and creative Finns who manufacture the phones we use today.Africans(IT Engineers) who work there are like 4.It's predominantly Finns and Asians. Why is it so? The singular reason according to my inquiry is because they believe in their technical and academic abilities.Rightly so because they(Finns) are so damn good.Sadly enough, most Africans who have higher degrees can't even defend them.Make no mistake,I am not saying some of us aren't good! All I am saying is that majority don't know anything in their specialties.

That's good to hear.

But it's funny how Nigeria is in the limelight only when achievements are made outside the country by Nigerians!

So the question still stands, does anything good come out of the four walls of Nigeria or do we all have to leave before we get recognition?
