Socialist Party candidate, Francois Hollande has won the French presidential election

He beat incumbent,Nikola Sakorzy after two rounds of ballots.

Hollande is the first socialist, since ex President Francois Mitterrand won in 1981.

Hollande got 51.9 per cent against Sakorzy's 48.1

Sarkozy, analysts believe, lost because he drifted to the far right during the last legs of campaigns.

His rhetorics attacked immigrants, the Euro and the Schengen aggreement.

Congrats Hollande... Can this happen in Nigeria? Can a sitting president loose election in Nigeria?

Indeed, I hope Nigerian politicians can lead how to change
administration peacefully through the ballot box.

The French voted. The candidate with the most votes won and the
change of government/administration was peaceful.

Can that ever happen in Nigeria?  Boko Haran is still fighting the
outcome of the last presidential elections.
