Mrs Ufot died Saturday at the Rakiya Memorial Hospital Kaduna at the age of 73 after a protracted illness.
When LEADERSHIP visited the family residence of late Mrs Ufot at Kabala Costain, Kaduna, well wishers and sympathisers were seen trooping in to condole with the family.
Some of those who spoke with our correspondent described the deceased as a woman who feared the Lord, a lover of all and above all, a devoted Christian.
Mr. Anthony Ogbewey who is the chairman of the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Edo/ Delta Catholic community, Kaduna where late Mrs Ufot was a member until her death, has this to say about her, “She was like a mother to a good number of us, although she has her age mates among us, she was a very dedicated member and we used to call her ‘Senator’, very respectful with a noble character. She was very dear to us and it was our hope that she would live long because each time she was at the meeting, she had a unique way of making everybody happy”.
Mr Ogbewey said Mrs Ufot has left a legacy of humility and friendliness, very compassionate, and always there for everybody. He further described her as a very good mixer who did not discriminate on any grounds.
The Sarki of Kabala Costain, Alhaji Musa Haruna, described late Mrs Ufot as a kind and good neighbour while Mama Victoria Garba said, late Mrs Ufot would be missed for her kindness.
On her part, mother of LEADERSHIP MD, Mama Eunice Nda- Isaiah who was also on hand to receive sympathisers described late Mrs Ufot as a kind hearted woman who loved everyone who comes her way. While she was alive, they lived as families not as in-laws and would be very much missed for her kindness, she stressed.
LEADERSHIP also spoke with her children who were available as at the time of filing the report.
Mr. Edet Ufot who works with the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) Abuja, described her mother as a very loving mother, adding, “there are so many people that are here that mama literally dragged in from the street, there are people who lived with us who mama saw on the street and brought them in to live with us, some of them today are very wealthy people”. She lived a life of generosity and will be missed for the good life that she lived, he added.
Mrs Felicia Bob-manuel described her mother as a wonderful mother while Mrs Ime Edoho said, if she happens to come to this world again, she would still want Late Mrs Ufot to be her mother.
Mrs Edoho further said that she lacked words to describe who her mother was to them while she was alive, “she was a wonderful and kind woman with no reservation”.
Mrs Namso Abraham Nda- Isaiah, wife of LEADERSHIP MD who happens to be late Mrs Ufot’s last child could not speak with our correspondent as she was depressed over the death of her mother.
However, her husband, Mr Abraham Nda- Isaiah who managed to speak with our correspondent described her mother in-law as a woman with many godly virtues worthy of emulation. “Mama fears God, loves all irrespective of tribe and religion, she will certainly be missed for her care and kindness” he emphasised.
