The former PDP National Legal Adviser, who spoke with journalists ahead of the beginning of his campaign, also debunked the rumour that President Goodluck Jonathan is backing Mimiko for a return.
He said, “I am not scared of any incumbency factor; is it incumbency that has disappointed the people? Is it incumbency that has brought poverty, unemployment and failed to meet the aspirations of Ondo people? Any incumbency that is founded on failure will not be difficult for me to push out and dislodge politically; it has happened many states.
“As such incumbency is not a strong point in Ondo State which has an enlightened community where people will accept good governance and reject bad government.”
According to him, opportunity has been given to the administrations of the late Adekunle Ajasin and Adebayo Adefarati as well as those of Olusegun Agagu and Mimiko, adding that it is left for the people of Ondo State to assess all of them objectively.
Oke said, “It is only when a man marries two wives that he knows the difference; you cannot deceive the people all the time. For me, I will run a government that has vision and will take Ondo to higher heights, never witnessed before.”
