36 make First Class in UNILORIN

Thirty-six of the 4,686 graduands of the University of Ilorin for the academic session graduation have bagged First Class honours.

According to a statement on Thursday by the UNILORIN Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, 871 made Second Class Upper Division; 2,297 Second Class Lower Division; 1,120 Third Class; and 287 Ordinary Pass.

Akogun stated that the university’s Senate, at its 227th meeting on Tuesday, ratified the results, thereby clearing 5,383 final year students for graduation. They include 4,686 from the first degree cadre, 679 from the Institute of Education and 18 from Diploma programme.

The outgoing Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, according to the statement, denied that the institution was planning to have a special convocation to allow him preside over the ceremony before his exit on October 15.

Oloyede restated that the convocation date remains October 23, as set out in the university’s calendar.
