The Commissioner for Water Resources and Environment, Idris Mahdi, told The Guardian yesterday that the state government had made plans to help the victims of the recent flood in the state.
According to him, “the state government has as well set aside N20 million”, which according to him, would be used to cushion the hardship of the victims of the recent flood in the state capital.
Relevant pro-active measures, including drainages, that would go a long way in putting a permanent end to the occurrence of erosion in the parts of the state, are also being put in place.
The commissioner, who admitted that floods had in the past ravaged the state, told The Guardian that the administration was living no stone unturned to check erosion.
