A panel of enquiry set up by the Ondo State Government to look into the crisis between the natives of Igburowo community, Odigbo Local Government Area of the State and their monarch will begin sitting today. The panel, which is chaired by the Oba Aderemi Adelola, the Ajobu of Araromi-Obu, has invited the people of the community to submit memorada on what they knew about the crisis that led to the deposition of the Oba by the natives of the community.

In his speech after the inauguration of the panel at the administrative building within Odigbo Local Government secretariat, Oba Adelola, explained that the panel is a fact finding one with four terms of reference. Among the terms are to determine and identify the remote and immediate causes of the protest, advise government on ways out, prevent future occurrence, proffer solutions and ways out on the protest and ensure that peace and harmony return to the community Adelola who is also the chairman, council of traditional ruler, Odigbo Local Government, appealed to the people of the community to maintain what he called decorum during the panel’s sitting.

He, however, assured them of fair hearing and impartiality. Also speaking, the Akogbe of Ajue town, Oba Patrick Osunwe appealed to the community to maintain peace, pending the conclusion of the sitting of the panel. Asked if the embattled monarch would be pardoned by the community, the spoke-persons and representatives of five groups, which include the High Chiefs, Women Chiefs otherwise called Opoji, representatives of Olojas under the ancient town as well as representative of Igburowo Development Committee (IDC) vowed that their decision to depose the Oba was irreversible

Meanwhile, the memorandum of understanding written and signed by over 21 representatives of the various groups in the community will be read by, Mr. Yemi Olugbamigbe and submitted to the panel today. The Lisa of the community who is the second in command to the embattled monarch, High Chief Festus Ogunsesin said that the community had begun traditional rites to show that the stool of the monarch is vacant
