Prince Harry had to be rushed to safety after he was caught ‘just 400 yards’ from a fierce battle when Taliban fighters armed with rocket-propelled grenades burst into Camp Bastion.
As the insurgents stormed the base in Helmand province with Harry as their target, the Prince’s armed bodyguards escorted him to a protected area.
But despite being so close to the intense three-hour fire-fight – which left two US Marines dead, four British airmen seriously wounded and several aircraft ablaze – the Prince last night told his commanding officers he was ‘staying put’.

Wat is d purpose of going to war front if he was going to be rushed away from fire-fight or battle or handled with kid's glove if not just propaganda to manufacture British Royal history of how gallant and battle-hardened the prince was - a dubious way to shower him with undeserved 'military medals'. Prine Harry should go and rest joo. He is no soldier but a liabiliy and should return home to his pampered lifestyle. Other real men are protecting him in the war front thereby limiting the soldiers available for the war
