Year by year, event after event the Mode Magazine Annual awards seem to be growing in leaps & bounds. Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa, the grandson of the late former Prime-Minister of Nigeria, who is the publisher of Mode Men Magazine and his team must be well commended for doing their best to put together a great award showcase. That they were able to get the support of such classy brands like Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Tom Ford is a plus for them. Those 2 brands were very conspicuous at the venue of the event on night and many who had not before then, experienced the power of the 2 brands had a ball at no cost to themselves.
The venue of the award, that's in its 5th season, was the grand ballroom of the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. Dress code, was Men in Tuxedo with a touch of Gold and ladies were told to look utterly ravishing in gold. While many tried, some were quite outstanding. Some of those we saw at the event, were Chydinma, Noble Igwe, Elohor Aisien, Yets Asika, Lami Phillips, Jumai Shaba, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Beverly Naya, Uru Eke, Damilola Adegbite, Gbolahan Obanikoro, Kevin Luciano-Gabriel, Seyi Shay, Vector, Ezinne Chinkata, Ifeanyi of Message, Ruth Obih, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Dolapo Oni, Femi Adeyinka and a host of others.
