Depressing story.   I can imagine the distress of the parents. Accept my condolence.

Every year Nigeria churns out thousands of graduates from various institutions of higher learning in the country. And every year these graduates are roaming the streets looking for a job. The question now is - who is to blame? Is it that some of these institutions are churning out "graduates" who really have no learning? A list of the top 100 universities in Nigeria for 2013 has just been published and Madonna University (where the alleged student schooled) ranked 63/100.

Now  I have heard a lot about this university including the frustrations of many students (both past and present). I have heard of final year students being made to repeat courses (they had passed in previous years)  to cover up the universities failure to get them on to the NYSC for a particular year?  I have heard stories of foreign "lecturers" leaving out of frustration without handing in marked exam scripts thus jeopardizing the students future?  I have heard of student admissions being over subscribed and parents not being refunded money paid upfront but instead being held to ransom by Madonna university authorities promising them admission the next year.

Only the university and Rev Fr Ede can truthfully say what this young man's plight was.  For example when did he graduate and how long after that did he go on NYSC?

How many job interviews did he apply for and how many times was he invited for an interview?  Was he turned down because of where he studied?

As for the parents conclusion that one cannot take their life unless under a spell - please stop showing your ignorance!

In this country where there is enough runs and paros, guy still kill himself. Too bad, he should have contacted me for job. Naijapal, please follow this case so that we can be sure he kill himself. If it is true, I will.......... I reserve my conclusion.
