The first ever MTV Africa All Stars in KwaZulu-Natal, took place in Durban, South Africa, on 18 May 2013 and was headlined by influential international hip hop artist turned reggae star Snoop Lion (formerly known as Snoop Dogg) in front of a massive crowd of over 15,000 at People’s Park in Durban.

The concert also featured a fabulous line up of Africa’s most exciting contemporary artists including 2Face, D’Banj, Zakes Bantwini, Big Nuz, Professor, Camp Mulla, Zahara and Flavour.

MTV Africa All Stars KwaZulu-Natal is part of a sensational new pan-African music and youth empowerment campaign, created jointly by MTV Base and KwaZulu-Natal Province, that salutes the star quality and widespread appeal of contemporary African musicians, providing exposure to the continent’s hottest musical innovators and pacesetters, while raising the international profile of KwaZulu-Natal as a premiere destination for tourism and economic development.
