Security men said they found following reports, by passers-by, of a suspicion package at a busy road intersection.
Security operatives and anti-bomb police personnel who were hurriedly drafted to the scene cordoned off the location, the busy road junction at Jema’a Road that connects motorists from Kaduna main bridge and Kaduna town. The area houses banks, public offices and thousands of business premises.
The package, a source said, was later found to have been a bomb attached to a laptop and other accessories. The bag was planted on the median separator of the two-lane road. A loud bang was reportedly heard after security operatives shot at it.
Efforts by our New York office to obtain comment from the security agencies were unsuccessful.
