Two inmates who escaped from the Ogwashi-Uku Prison at different dates have been recaptured after massive man haunt and intelligence gathering by officers and men of the Delta State Command of the Nigeria Prison Service.
The names of the recaptured inmates are Louis Achollo Etomi and Sunday Acholo, who are said to be cousins.
They escaped from the Ogwashi-Uku Prison on different dates but were recaptured the same week after a massive man haunt, which paid off on Friday.
Their offences included conspiracy, kidnapping, armed robbery and stealing.
The former, who is an awaiting trial inmate, was remanded in prison on December 14, 2011 by an Asaba High Court with CHARGE NO: A/15c/2012, and the latter, who is a convict, was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment on May 13, 2013 by a Delta Magistrate Court sitting a Ibusa.
The new Officer-In-Charge of Ogwashi-Uku Prison, Deputy Controller of Prisons, John igbavboa, said he was working tirelessly with his officers and men to forestall a future ocurrence and also to ensure that sanity was restored to the Ogwashi-Uku Prison.
