thank you blueixora......fellow nigerians, no need to fight and blame each others tribes etc.....cholera is caused by inadequate sanitation and contamination in the water system.....it could be the lady died from exposure to such......abach itself can't kill someone, but the way it was prepared could cause cholera......since the husband was not infected, could be the wife has lower immunity or the husband has a very high tolerance for the bacteria that caused the cholera......relax people whoever prepared the abacha was not clean, in a clean environment or the water used was contaminated etc | Posted: at 7-11-2013 12:09 AM (11 years ago) | Upcoming | |

She might have contacted it thru the abacha, water or any contaminated food she has eatin since 5 days. You can get cholera but that doesn't mean one gets it from the last food been eaten, it could be from the food ate the previous day. Besides considering the number of times she was passed out stool, it can get complicated since the stools re watery. She lost so much water n possibly electrolyte imbalance. IV is best to recover those fluid lost or they should ve make sure she drinks alot of fluid...who knows if she didnt die due to dehydration
