hi pals.looking at the current state of our economy i wonder if the drilling of crude oil in nigeria expecially in d niger delta region n some other parts in d country is a curse or a blessing.the kidnnappings, the abandone of other natural resources  are all connected to it.another example is afghanistan in the mid east which  is also in crisis due to its oil resource as most of those western developed countries like d united ststes claim to assit them in fighten terrorism but its clear its just a carmoflage.ur views? Roll Eyes

gud topic bro!
u also 4get d surplus revenue generated from crude oil(petroleum to b specific) is to sum extent the cause of our criminally corrupt govt system. these excess funds harboured greed in our politicians, political leaders depending on their conscience n beliefs were encouraged 2 loot sum of these funds for their own personal gain and to the detriment of the economic development of the nation.

Having said this, i'm gna hv 2 say crude oil remains an enormous blessing to our nation. owing 2 d fact dat it is our main marketable commodity, revenue obtained 4rm petroleum exportation has gotten our nation this far in terms of development and if this resource is properly managed and utilised for d benefit of the nation, we have the potential to be finally considered a ''developed'' nation.

take a look at U.A.E and the level of development that has taken place there in d last 10-15yrs.
