FIFA Rankings: Ghana overtake Nigeria

Nigeria picked up no points in the latest installment of the FIFA Rankings released on Wednesday and stayed glued to fifth position on the continent and 34th overall.

Gabon, who had leapfrogged Nigeria and moved into third place, dropped four places back into 6th in Africa and 35th overall.

Their place is taken by Egypt, who move up one place to 32nd in the world.

Ghana climbed three places to sit fourth in Africa and 32nd overall.

Ivory Coast remains Africa's top-ranked team despite dropping two places to 20th in the world.

They are followed by Cameroon, who held on to their 29th place overall. Egypt moved up one place, and stay third in Africa.

Nigeria's opponents in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier, are in a distant 50th position overall and 8th in Africa.

Kenya and Mozambique, Nigeria's other group rivals, are not even in the African Top 20

We may even drop to 10th in Africa in the next ratings.. woeful eagles.. we need prayers in the NFF now!

Before nko, what do you expect? That isnt really our true position, yeah the #5 spot i know we are still going to where we truly belong when TUNISIA finally qualifies for the world cup  Tongue

no suprise bout dat! too many internal problems nid to be addressed b4 we cn shine in africa once again nt to even talk of d international stage.

we're still relyin on past reputation of being footballin giants in africa, d govt/NFF/NFA e.t.c. nid to wake up in order to revive nigerian football b4 it is too late!

our players are all interested in their club side thing, what they do now is to come home, play what ever rubbish and go back to their club side where they earn more money. it's only OSAZE that i see playing on the pitch as if it's his father's busuness.... GHANA don pass 4 everything....xchange rate.....FIFA ranking even for movie industry. God dey sha.
