Multi-talented comedienne, Helen Paul a.k.a. Tatafo, has dispelled rumours that she mocked Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus, at a recent show.
Paul had come under intense criticism from Damasus fans over alleged uncomplimentary remarks she made about the actress during a show organised by a Lagos-based comedian, Acapella.
Speaking on her weekly programme on Naija FM 102.7 monitored in Lagos on Friday, Paul said the rumours stemmed from a joke she made at a recent show.
She said the joke was taken out of context by mischievous persons. Paul, who spoke in corrupted Pidgin, said she never mentioned Damasus in any joke at the show.
She said she only made reference to a fictitious character she called ‘Ezeribe,’ whom she claimed to have taken her to a church. She therefore called on Damasus fans to stop sending hate messages to her via social media. She said she regarded Damasus as a senior colleague and had no reason to take on her.
