Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has denied reports that he is planning to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He stated after some national newspapers claimed that he met with Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan and defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku said via a statement on Tuesday, March 10, that his commitment to the APC is unwavering.
The former VP also described reports of his purported defection as the work of mischief makers.
"I remain irrevocably committed to the APC, as I promised in my concession speech at the conclusion of our party's presidential primaries, and has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of our great party at the general elections," the statement reads.
"I have backed my words and commitment with my resources to ensure that I bring my influence and support to bear on our party's march to victory at all levels in the general election. That should be enough to shut up mischief makers bent on derailing the APC's success at the March 28 and April elections," he added.

The APC presidential aspirant urged Nigerians to disregard the rumour, stating that, “Dear friends, I believe you've seen the mischievous press reports about me leaving APC. They are false,” he wrote on his official Twitter account.
He stated that recently he reconciled members of his party in his state. “Just three days ago, I convened the Adamawa APC stakeholders meeting, to reconcile members and ensure victory in the coming polls.”
“My commitment to the APC, including the various state secretariats which I help fund, is unshakable.”
“As widely reported, I have since handed over my Media Office and policy document to the #GMB15 campaign.”

Atiku, who was an APC Presidential aspirant, had previously shuttled between both parties and his defeat at the primaries in December 2014 gave rise to expectations that he would defect yet again.

No matter the documentry PDP show it can stop the Nigeria to vote them. The worst PDP can is to show Baba Tinubu, Atiku, and Our future president . Rubbering Central Bank ATM. We'll still vote them.
