No fewer than seven persons were killed and 20 others seriously injured in a road mishap that occurred along the ever-busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday.
The crash, which involved a 40ft container truck with the registration number, Lagos AGL 632 XH, loaded with timber logs occurred around Danco Petroleum Filling Station.

Head of the Ogun State Traffic Compliant and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Commander Kabir Ojerinde, who confirmed the incident said dead victims included four male and three females.
Ojerinde said the truck driver who was heading to Lagos lost control after his front tyres burst right in front of the construction yard of Julius Berger Construction Company and fell on a Toyota Camry car with registration number KEY 857 DN and two other passenger buses marked XB 367 LAF and XC 909 FFA.
The 20 others who were critically injured were evacuated and taken to the hospital.

RIP to the dead and quick recovery to the injured.....our roads have become a death trap and so many vehicles on our roads are not road-worthy, FRSC should rise to their responsibilities and arrest non road-worthy vehicles, rather than arresting people for not using seat belts.
