A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged before Ebute Metta Magistrates’ court, for allegedly engaging in unlawful sex with 19-year old teenager inside his SUV in Lekki, Lagos State.
The suspect, John Imonitie, allegedly lured the victim, (name withheld) to a popular restaurant in Lekki and thereafter had sex with her without her consent inside his SUV. The incident happened within the premises of Vantage Restaurant in Lekki at about 9.00 pm where both the victim and suspect met.
According to the victim, Imonitie lured her inside a Honda Civic SUV with registration number Lagos JJJ 603 AU and allegedly raped her. The police alleged that Imonitie squeezed the victim’s neck and she became helpless before he pulled her pant, penetrating her.
After the assault, Imonitie dragged the teenager out of the SUV and drove off.
The matter was reported to the police at Criminal investigation and intelligence section of the State CID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
Imonitie was trailed and arrested and interrogated during which he allegedly confessed that he had sex with her inside the SUV with her consent. He was arraigned before the court charged with engaging in unlawful sex with the victim under the Criminal Code,but he pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr T. Abolerinwa, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Imonitie has been remanded in prison custody at Ikoyi pending when he will perfect his bail, meanwhile the matter has been adjourned till 11 November, 2015. Nonsense what is the meaning of lured her into his SUV ?He lured her into his SUV on gun point or drag her with rope? when their both have gone to eat at an expensive restaurant and later she followed him into his car, besides 19years is never under age,she got what she's looking for simple.

It happened in the car, after eating in a restaurant and at 9 pm in the night. Above all, 26 yrs old boy with 19 yrs old girl. This is not RAPE but misunderstanding btw both of them in terms of promise fulfillment.
