South African authorities have ordered Christ Embassy head pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, to tender the church’s financial records, a request he denied. The South African Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities, headed by Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva, is investigating the commercialisation of religion and the abuse of people’s beliefs within South Africa. Christ Embassy has many branches in the country, and Mkhwanazi-Xaluva is demanding the financial records to know how the church spends the money it makes. All churches in the country are required to now submit their ordination certificate, the church registration certificate, bank statements and the annual financial statements dating from 2012. “These people take money from people. What are they doing with that money? We want to know. We will not back down,” she said. “Some of these religious leaders will face prison if they do not comply and we have been clear about our course of action.” In response to Oyakhilome’s refusal to submit his financial records, she said: “If he intends on that route, we are ready. He will have to face the same fate as the others who refuse to hand over their financial records,” she said.

Hmmm Pastor Chris wey dem wan construct 350,000 dollars stage for in Ghana and also buy him a house where he'd stay for just two days visit, his first visit to Ghana and probably the last for a very long time. My friends sister is a pastor at one of the branches in Ghana. These Christ Embassy pastors transfer hundreds of thousands of dollars to Nigeria on a weekly basis. Now they demand money directly from the members like it's why they're in the church and those ones too have turned the whole thing to highest bidder.

That Church !!!!!! I make mistake attend that Church for about 3 yrs, wetin I see my mouth no fit talk, any young man or woman when say na Christ embassy him or she wan attend I wish am good luck. I run like Usen Bolt and I have never stopped thanking God for that decision, now I dey worship for redeemed but I still dey watcful because if you never fall victim of brainwashing you no go know wetin I dey talk. 80% of christians are just serving the pastors and are being brain washed big time, These Pastors are living life to the fullest dem no even know wetin to do with money yet most members are just struggling ang giving almost all to the pastors without planning for the rainy day. The girls are worst off, thay are at the mercy of the pastors, some cannot even marry because they seek pastors permission and the man says no I do not approve of this man albeit with a selfish motive.I no fit talk, what about fake miracle ----- A man who was blind from birth purporttedly healed and asked to identify colours where e sabi differentiate colours when he was blind from birth? Finance convention nko with Apostle gbenga Igbafe? Pastors birthday nko? then anyday Pastor no dey around we go gather dey him preaching for TV like small children of dem days dey halla wo wo wo wo, yeho yeho like say na the man author the bible. this talk too many i no fir talk am finish----I forget what of blasting of babes by the jerry curl hair fine boy pastors. only what i know is that when jesus was on earth here he never use car or jet even bicycle, he always walk or using donkey moving from town to town, county to country by land preching the word of GOD. BUT pastors now are days only think about their self and their family. the painful thing they don't even remember the poor, those in prision, offanage home or with the offering money to buy goods to vist this people. i wounder to see pastors having jet, lot of cars houses here and there lot of body guard like the president. even asking their members who to vote for in the house of GOD.
