Now you might say this is a little extreme- until you remember some of the problems with cheating students in exams India has had in the past.
A group of young men hoping to be recruited into the Indian Army were forced into a very awkward corner, when they were ordered to strip down before being allowed to take an exam- as a means of combating cheating.
The BBC reports that the ‘exam’ took place in India’s Bihar state, where hundreds of young men had turned up in the town of Muzaffarpur hoping to be hired into the army.
When they turned up, they were asked to strip to only their underwear, one student told the Indian Express.
“As we entered Chakkar Maidan, the venue, we were asked to remove all clothes except underwear. We had no option but to comply with the instructions even though it felt odd. The gap between candidates was about eight feet in all directions,”
Over 1,000 candidates took the exam, which lasted for an hour. The army has described it as an administrative lapse following backlash, although initially they had said it was done to “save time on checking so many students”.
