Wigan Athletic youngster, Victor Moses who ignored several invitations to play for the Eagles has given an indication that he is ready to play for Nigeria now.

Victor Moses now ready for Nigeria call-up

Moses was left out of the England under-21 team, by manager, Stuart Pierce in their European championship qualifier against Greece at the weekend.

H was approached by the Nigeria Football Federation technical committee chairman, Taiwo Ogunjobi to play for the Eagles at the World Cup, but the £2.5 million rated player was reluctant. But he disclosed at the weekend that if called by new Eagles manager, Lars Lagerback he would respond as he was ‘fed up’ of not being used by England.

Moses, 19, was only eligible to play for English youth teams, because residency rules would not permit.

He moved to England after losing both parents during a riot in Kaduna. He joined Wigan from Crystal Palace at the January transfer window, but was sparingly used by coach Roberto Martinez. He acknowledged however, that Victor Moses is making progress.

“He feels that he has always been playing at this level,” Martinez said.“He is full of enthusiasm and has huge belief in his talent and that gives you a great option going forward.

“I have always said that we need to be patient in terms of giving him the right time and moment to feel himself. But every day he grows and matures and it shows.”
