Athletics legend, Usain Bolt‘s glittering career ended in a limp after he pulled up injured in his final ever race.

The Jamaican sprinter was his country’s anchorman in the 4x100m final at the World Championships in London.
Bolt tried to keep running but his ankle was done for the night
And with Great Britain and the United States ahead when he received the baton, Bolt’s ankle gave thus, ending an illustrious career in the worst manner imaginable.

But on the race went and Great Britain’s Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake held off Christian Coleman to win gold for the hosts.

The British quartet won the race in a time of 37.47 seconds, among the fastest times in history. Bolt and Jamaica hold the world record at 36.84

Their win was however overshadowed by the injury to the fastest man ever on his final race.

Bolt’s massively gutting end to his career came days after he finished third in his final 100m race.

And it was expected that he would make up for it by leading Jamaica to the 4x100m gold. Alas! It was not meant to be.

Regardless of leaving London 2017 with just the solitary bronze medal, Bolt will remain the greatest sprinter for some time; if not all time.

The 30-year-old is an eight-time Olympic gold medallist and along with the 4x100m, holds the world record in the 100m and 200m
