Yesterday Another batch of 121 stranded Nigerians in Libya who volunteered to return home were received at the cargo section of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos by officials of National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, led by the Zonal Coordinator of NEMA Southwest, Suleiman Yakubu .

The returnees, made up of 61 females and 60 males, with 2 pregnant women and 1 medical case, were brought to Lagos on a Libya Nouvelair flight with Registration number TS-INA and SA320.

The Director-General, National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Mrs. Julie Okah-Donli, had last month said that 540 Nigerians were set for deportation from Libya. She also said that the deportees would be brought back to Nigeria in three batches. Thousands of Nigerians have been flown back from Libya, with some voluntarily returning with the help of the International Organisation for Migration.
