Two corps members were Thursday, gruesomely murdered by cultists during one of their robbery operations along School Road in the Swali area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

It was gathered that the cultists, in what has become a regular occurrence, stormed the corps members’ residence and shot three of them, killing two, leaving one other critically injured.

One of the dead corps member, identified as Popoola Oluwatobi Olamide, was a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and an indigene of Oyo State.

The other deceased corps member, George Onokpoma, who was reported to have struggled with their killers and sustained bullet injuries, died on his way to the hospital.

The third victim, Gbenga Dada, is said to be receiving treatment for gunshot wounds at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.

The room where they were attacked was riddled with bullets and the floor had thick blood stains, signifying the horror that led to their death.

Their neighbours explained that the deceased, who were attached to a private school known as Victory Group of Schools, were marking exam scripts before the hoodlums attacked.

The neighbours described them as quiet and easy going individuals. “They hardly keep late nights and only take fresh air by their door when there is power outage.”
