All of Nigeria is divided into different states. Each state has governors, senators, etc. Each state receives their own state budget in order to improve for the community members where they govern. It is the responsibility of each governor to ensure that the funds allocated are managed properly to the benefit of its citizens.

OMATU U ARE RIGHT BUT AT SAME TIME WRONG BECAUSE IT'S ALSO THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRESIDENT TO ENSURE THAT THE GOVERNORS, SENATORS AND WHO EVER THE MONEY FOR THE BUDGET IS HANDED OVER TO,TO CARRY OUT HIS OR HER DUTIES. ReplyWERE BY HE OR SHE DOES NOT USE THE MONEY FOR IT PURPOSE HE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE THE PERSON,BECAUSE HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY,BUT HE CANT DO IT BECAUSE HIM HE 'SELF IS CORRUPT.

You are talking about a dictatorship. It is the citizens of each state that need to remove the governors and senators of that state if they are not performing well. If the citizens of each state brought a complaint to the hearing of the Federal government, investigations will be conducted, and the governor or senator can become impeached.WERE BY HE OR SHE DOES NOT USE THE MONEY FOR IT PURPOSE HE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE THE PERSON,BECAUSE HE IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY,BUT HE CANT DO IT BECAUSE HIM HE 'SELF IS CORRUPT.

OMATU YOU MAY HAVE A POINT BUT STILL THE FACT REMAIN THAT THE HAUSA`S HAVE HAD MORE CHANCES TO CHANGE OUR COUNTRY NIGERIA BUT EVERY TIME THEY GO IN AS PRESIDENT THE COUNTRY REMAIN THE SAME,IT LOOKS LIKE WIDEN THE HAUSA'S THEY HAVE AGREED NOT TO MOVE NIGERIA FORWARD. ReplyI JUST HOPE THIS NEW GUY WILL CHANGE THINGS THAT WILL BE IF THE HAUSA`S AND OTHER SICK OLD FOOLS WILL LET HIM.

what kind of investigation are we talking about?for 50yrs investigations has been going on and corruption has been going on more than ever. How many of the so called Governors and Senators has been impeached? No one, instead there are getting more corrupt, stealing more and more.

It is the citizens of each state that can vote in or vote out the corrupt leaders from their State. When the citizens allow themselves to sell their votes to a corrupt governor or corrupt senators, you cannot blame the federal government. We are our brother's keepers, all of us. We must demand fair elections in each of the states that we belong to. We must ensure that the people we have voted for account for each money allocated to the states. Set up watch dog groups for each allocation that belongs to your state. Ensure that you have a strong opposition party as well. Too much is being expected of the federal government. If you bring in an accusation but you cannot prove it, then the Federal government cannot do anything.

Each community group from each state that feel that their governor and senators are misappropriating funds have the right to demonstrate night and day at the governors office and mansion, write petitions until what they want is done. We cannot fold our hands and just complain, do not get involved in changing things in our individual states and expect the federal government to do anything. It does not work with our constitution.

OMATU LIKE CHUDY SAID THIS HAVE BEEN GOING ON AT LEAST FOR UP TO 50 YEARS NOW AND MOST OF THAT YEARS IT HAS BEEN THE HAUSA'S IN POWER AND STILL NOTHING HAVE BEEN DONE ABOUT THE SITUATION OF OUR COUNTRY. ReplyCOME ON MAN STOP DEFENDING UR PEOPLE JUST ACCEPT IT THAT THEY ARE NOT DOING WELL.

The southerner is now the president. You will see that nothing will change either. This problem has nothing to do with the Federal government. You need to address the problems locally. Do not allow the community to agree to their votes being purchased, stolen, etc. Vote out the leaders in the local state community that are corrupt and put leaders that are honest when a new election is called. It does not matter if the southerners rule again for the next 50 years or more. Until the disease at the local level is stamped out, Nigerian leaders will continue to be corrupt. Get involved in your local state and make a difference. Quit complaining about the federal government because constitutionally, they cannot do much unless you help them from the state level. Hold the politicians in your local state to their campaign promises or remove them. Make them to account to the funds and make them show what they did with it. The federal government will help you in taking care of national security, dispersing the funds to each state treasury, etc. It is up to the local citizens to demand accountability from their own local state government officials.COME ON MAN STOP DEFENDING UR PEOPLE JUST ACCEPT IT THAT THEY ARE NOT DOING WELL.

Hausas' are not fools! ReplyNo body ever said they are. I was raised in the north and understand their ways! the only problem they have is in their alllegence orientation. Once a leader like emir utters a word, wether good or bad, they follow blindly. If an islamic scholar comes with an idea, wether good or bad, they follow blindly. This is is one fact that has left their scope of logical reasoning and development behind. They aren't fools! BUT oh yes members!! no matter how incorrect ur time is, it will be correct twice a day.
