well where i come from in Igboland after a child is born the mother will first give the child a name either normal Igbo name or english name, which we consider as ordinary name then after a month the father will then give the baby a native name eg my mum gave me Ndubuisi and that's what every body calls me and my dad gave Ojo as my native name.
