LOCKDOWN: "Obey Restriction Orders, Celebrate In Moderation" -Niger Police Warn Residents

The Niger State Commissioner of Police has called on religious leaders, worshippers, and residents of the State to continue to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies to observe prayers and celebrate in moderation during the Easter period.

Usman made the call in a press statement signed by ASP Wasiu A. Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, and made available to newsmen.

He also stressed the need to obey all guidelines provided to curtail the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, especially the restriction order between 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

According to the statement,

“the Commissioner of Police has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Departments to continue with the enforcement of the social restriction order placed by the Niger State Government.”

The State Police Boss further urged Christian faithful to use the Easter celebration to pray for the State and the Nation as a whole in this trying moment.

” I also want you to see the restriction in the light of the symbolism of Easter which connotes sacrifice, tolerance, perseverance, love, and ultimate triumph.”

While wishing Nigerlites Happy Easter, the CP reassured residents that the Command will remain steadfast and committed to the duty of ensuring public safety before, during and after the Easter celebrations.
