GUNMEN suspected to be kidnappers on Thursday abducted the proprietress of Beulah International School, Mrs. Comfort Sam Ewang, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Ewang, who is the wife of a two time military administrator of Rivers and Ogun States, was whisked away around 10am shortly after her arrival at the school compound.
According to an eyewitness account, the gunmen numbering about 10 trailed Ewang right from her residence in Ewet Housing Estate before attacking her vehicle in front of the school gate.
The gunmen reportedly shot sporadically into the air, the development, which lead the students to scamper for safety before taking their victim away.
When contacted, the husband to the kidnapped victim, Group Captain Sam Ewang (rtd), said his wife‘s abductors were yet to establish contact with the family.
A visibly worried Ewang stated that he was only concerned about the safety of his wife in the hands of her captors.
Ewang said, “My wife was taken away this morning by gunmen around 10am shortly after her arrival at the school premises. The kidnappers have not established contact with the family up till now and we don’t know her whereabouts.”
