There were claims made today by a popular UK based social media influencer, Dr. Olufunmilayo when he tweeted that the Government was looking to censor the social media through a new legislative bill and Hon. Desmond Elliot was championing the bill. Although the allegation itself is contradictory, since Desmond Elliot is only a legislator at the Lagos state house; as such he would not have the provision to push a bill of that magnitude.
The timing of the allegation however came when the citizens are angry at all things having to do with the government, as such, it is quite easy to buy into such allegation.

Desmond Elliot has now replied the allegation in a short video, where he rebuffed the claims and said he only cautioned social media influencers and celebrities against pushing the hate narrative which has been fuelling the recent uprising in the country. You can watch his video response below:

That’s what it is now bro! As a politician now your words or anything you do will be use against by the Peole Sovereign Court, which is even higher than the Apex court of any country.
