Nigerians have been mocking the police since a training video of Special Weapon and Tactics Team (SWAT) personnel went viral.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, announced the unit after disbanding the notorious Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Adamu said those selected are young, smart and energetic officers who have acquired not less than seven years of working experience with clean service records.
The IGP assured that the SWAT will operate within very high professional and ethical standards, rule of law, and dictates of best international policing practices.
