When I met my guy, he told me he did not like most American foods. The first meal I cooked for him was Carribean food because I heard it was somwhat similar to African food. He enjoyed it and told me he did not expect me to be a good cook. I noticed that he put a lot of hot sauce on it so, I made sure to use plenty of hot pepper next time I cooked for him. I searched online for Nigerian recipes and cooked them for myself until I was confident enough in the taste to cook it for him. I was not too proud to ask him to teach me how to cook for him and enjoy spending time learning to cook the foods that he enjoys. ReplyMy advice is to let her know that you don't enjoy her cooking. If you can cook, spend a few days teaching her how to cook what you like. Send her to your mom or someone who can teach her. If she loves you, she will want to keep you happy and eating at home. Just my humble opinion

Quote from: agabs on 8-11-2010 05:32 PM Quote from: omatu on 8-11-2010 03:47 PM When I got married, I thought I could cook. My husband told me that I cannot cook and that he does not enjoy my cooking. He did not leave it at that, he took me shopping, bought the things he likes to eat, spent time and taught me how to cook different dishes on different days. The ones I did not like, I told him I did not like certain dishes he cooked, and I learnt from there. OMATU, CHAI!. I taught you were single? Ha hah hah a hah a hh hah ah haahha! When I cook the dishes that he taught me that I do not like, I cook it for him because I know he likes it. I then cook something else that I like to eat. I use that time to cook the food the way I used to cook that I liked so that I can eat it myself as well. My children developed my husband's taste bud because we cooked mainly what he likes. He is a good cook. I then tried okro soup on my own, westernized the okro soup, and the children loved it including my husband. Marriage is a oneness system. Help and build each other up. See world wey we dey inside. Hmn! Wow! this is life. This is life. And she is beautiful. Hello Agabs, you are funny. While I was dating my husband, he never once told me he did not like my cooking. Once I married him, he started admitting that he does not like my cooking and he was willing and ready to teach me to cook the food the way he likes it. Women should be willing to listen and learn. Men should be prepared to train. The best cooks in this world are men. They are good in owning restaurants, etc.
