Super Eagles Striker, Victor Osimhen Ruled out of Africa Cup of Nations Next Year

Napoli and Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of football for three months.

The news of his injury was announced on Napoli's website on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021. According to the information released by the club, the Nigerian went in for surgery on Tuesday morning, he is doing well but he will be monitored in days to come. The news also confirmed that he has been ruled out for three months.

The forward man started the game in the 3-2 defeat at the San Siro but was substituted on the 52nd minute following a clash of the head with Milan's player, Skriniar, which left the Nigerian with a black eye.

Napoli confirmed that the 22-year-old will undergo surgery following the damage to his left eye during the game. He was immediately taken to the San Raffaele Hospital for tests, which found multiple breaks in his cheek and a fractured eye socket.

The Super Eagles will be without the striker for the African Cup of Nations, which will be hosted in Cameroon in January 2022.
