UN Chief, Antonio Guterres Lands In Nigeria, Visits Boko Haram Victims In Borno

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres landed in Nigeria on Tuesday.

Guterres visited the Borno capital, Maiduguri, where he met Boko Haram victims and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

The chief consoled them and expressed UN’s commitment to ensure their welfare remain a top priority,

Governor Babagana Zulum briefed Guterres on the humanitarian crisis and thanked the world body for its efforts over the years.

Zulum said the IDPs had stayed for several years in camps and were eager to return to homes which are yet to be reconstructed.

The governor appealed for more UN support in the ongoing rehabilitation, reconstruction and resettlement of the IDPs.

NAN reports that Guterres could not make his scheduled visit to the border town of Banki due to time factor.

Hello UN secretary general. Before leaving Maiduguri ask Buhari to give you the list of Boko haram sponsors. He has refused letting Nigerians know them. Also visit middle belt, Benue specifically and you will be greeted by mass burial grounds of innocent Nigerians killed by fulani herdsmen imported into Nigeria by Buhari. You sure know about the struggle for the actualisation of Biafra in the South Eastern region of Nigeria. The world is not hearing the genocide being perpetrated by this Fulani government of Nigeria.
